Golden Words of Hazrat Ali (Radhiallahu 'anhu)



  1. “The best revenge is to improve yourself.”
  2. “No mirror can reflect a picture of a human better than his attitude & way of speaking.”
  3. “If someone hurts you then don’t be upset as it’s the law of nature that the trees with the sweetest fruits are beaten the most.”
  4.  “The moment you start arguing with an ignorant person, you have already lost.”
  5. “A liar’s biggest punishment in this world is that even his truth is rejected.”
  6. “The biggest shame, is to mock at something that you have in yourself.” 
  7. “I found endurance therein was wiser. So I adopted patience, although there was pricking in the eye & suffocation in the throat,” 
  8. “Do not let your difficulties fill you with anxiety; after all it is only in the darkest nights that stars shine more brightly.” 
  9. “Do not be a slave to others when Allah has created you free.”
  10. “I didn’t see anyone who smiled more than Rasul-Allah (Peace be upon him).” 
  11. “Do not violate the rights of your friend, because when deprived of his right & privileges he will not remain your friend.”
  12. “As a man’s wisdom increases, so his desire to speak decreases.”
  13. “Friendship transfers a stranger into a relative.”

  15. “Unfortunate, he who cannot gain a few sincere friends during his life & more unfortunate is the one who has gained them & then lost them (through his deeds).” 
  16. “There is peace in solitude, away from the evils of people.”
  17. “Patience is of two kinds: patience over what pains you, & patience against what you covet.” 
  18. “Be it known to you that nobody has given mankind such detailed information about Allah as our Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him).”
  19. “He who has no control over his tongue will often have to face discomfort.”
  20. “Beautiful people are not always good, but good people are always beautiful.”
  21. “For your brother, offer your blood & wealth, for your enemy, your justice & fairness, & for people in general, your joy & good favor.”
  22. “He is truly your brother who will forgive your mistakes, meet your needs, accept your excuse, cover your imperfection, expel your fear, & fulfill your expectation.”
  23. “Don’t decide anything in anger & don’t make any promise when you are happy.”
  24. “Do not depend on love for it is rare, & do not depend on a human for he is departing , rather depend on Allah for He is omnipotent.”
  25. “Through patience great things are accomplished.” 
  26. “Life consists of two days, one for you & one against you. So when it’s for you don’t be proud or reckless, & when it’s against you be patient, for both days are test for you.” 
  27. “One who practices patience will never be deprived of success, even though it may take a long time to reach him.”
  28. “Nothing hurts a good soul & a kind heart more than to live amongst people who cannot understand it.”
  29. “A person of dignity would never use obscene language.” 
  30. “See the bad inside yourself, & see the good inside others.” 
  31. “If you want to eliminate evil from the hearts of others, then first uproot it from your own.”
